Apple laptop computers,
everything you must know.

With the growing range of Apple laptop computers that are currently on the market, and with the ones that are due over the next 6 months, Steve Jobs is definitely showing his old sparring partner Gates that sometimes taking over the world can be accomplished with style as well as functionality.

Apple iBook

Ever since its release, the Apple iBook has gained fans from both Apple computer users, and Windows-based laptop users.

The two models in the iBook Apple laptop computers range that are winning all the plaudits are the M9846LLA 12.1 inch screen, which has to be one of the best featured laptops for under $1000, and the 14.1 inch M9848LLA, which is a more top of the range model (it shares its build with the hugely successful G4 desktop computer range from Apple).

If there are any weaknesses, it would be that the 12-inch model cant burn DVDs, and the 14 model only displays a resolution of 1023x768, nut apart from that, these are both excellent entries in the laptop market.

Apple Macbook

One of the biggest weapons that Apple laptop computers have over Windows laptops is the ability to run Windows-based programs, and this is evident in the Macbook range.

Coming in 3 models (all with 13 inch screens) starting at $1,099, these laptops are excellent for entry-level computer programs like photo editing, web browsing and watching movies on.

However, the screen loses clarity in sunlight, which is a definite downside, and theres not really much difference between the standard Macbook and the iBook. Maybe the Macbook Pro would be a better option, at $2,049.

Apple Powerbook G3

One of the elder statesmen of the Apple computer market, the Power G3 still packs a punch when compared to some newer models from both Apple and Windows-based laptops.

Whether you go for the 333Mhz model or the more popular 400Mhz model, youre still getting some serious bang for your buck.

Mixing the best of Apples various other computers, the G3 is excellent as either a business model computer, or a games fans choice.

Coming with an ATI Rage 128 graphics card, it may not be able to handle the latest graphic-heavy applications, but it will still handle a lot.

Because of the age of the machine (it first came out at the end of 1999/beginning of 2000), the memory is a little low compared to newer systems, at only 64MB of RAM, but if you can see past this, the G3 is still an excellent machine in the Apple laptop computers range.

Apple G5

Although Apple were hoping to release a G5 Powerbook version to the market, this never materialized and instead it stayed within the desktop computing market.

The G5, however, never had quite as big a following as the more popular G3 and G4 models, and was soon superseded by a newer model.

It was still an excellent machine, though, especially the 20 inch 1.8 GHz model. Coming with an NVIDIA GeForce 5200 Ultra GPU, it was hailed as the slimmest desktop computer on any operating system.

It even came in a special educational model, although this didnt have the modem or optical drive of its bigger brothers. It did, however, have the new Apple iSight 2.0 mega-pixel web cam built in to the monitor, and this novelty soon became standard.

Apple iMac

Ever since the first Apple iMac came out almost 10 years ago in 1998, it has continued to lead the field in all-in-one solutions.

There have been attempts to compete against it from PC manufacturers but they’ve never come close to the options that the original iMac offered, and continues to do so today in its current form.

Whether it’s the design of the machine itself or the whole Apple easy user experience, the iMac continues to lead the way for home computing, and is still the best seller in Apple laptop computers range.

The new version of the iMac continues Apples famous innovative approach to design and features combining. Coming with an Intel Core 2 processor, and the choice of either a 20-inch screen or a 24-inch screen, its an extremely slim and good-looking machine.

Some of the features that the new iMac contain are the ability to display true high definition images, thanks to the display resolution of 1920x1200.

However, one thing where the iMac still trails a little when compared to other products (especially the G5 beast) is in gaming.

Although, to be fair, despite more games being made for the Apple market today, the Macs were never meant to be a gaming piece of equipment anyway.

With a wide range of models available to suit any budget, as well as the new operating system that Apple has just released onto the market, there has never been a better time to own Mac Apple laptop computers.

Bill Gates needs to come up with something stunning, especially after the Vista fiasco, or else he might soon find that his beloved Windows system is extinct. Especially since it can be run on a Mac now.
