The HP Pavilion DV2000Z Laptop,
a comprehensive review

This site features a detailed HP Pavilion DV2000Z laptop review and buying guide. We hope that you find it valuable.

Those who are looking for a complete multimedia solution in a small package are likely to take note of the HP Pavilion DV2000Z laptop, not only has this laptop earned a lot of respect it packs a lot of different features into the different options that you can purchase.

The good news is that this laptop comes in with a light enough weight you are not looking at lugging around huge amounts of weight, at a slender 5.3 pounds there is plenty of energy left for using the laptop, rather than just carrying it.

Pros

With an AMD chip, specifically the AMD Sempron 3200+ which is 1.6GHz, this laptop is designed to be fairly powerful.

Ready to tackle almost anything you can throw at it, AMD has done well for those interested in large amounts of multimedia applications as well as gamers.

Two headphone jacks, as well as firewire built in and several other expansion slots including the 5 in 1 media reader ensure that you can access the files you need, as well as share the video and audio that you are looking to share without bothering anyone else.

Cons

While this laptop brings a few powerful features to the table, the puny 512MB of RAM that the unit ships with standard is not impressive by any means.

While the unit can be upgraded easily to 2GB, this is still on the low side, and a very expensive add-on.

Other HP Pavilion DV2000Z negatives include the tiny 14.1-inch screen combined with the tiny 40GB hard drive.

Considering that many units are shipping with larger screens and hard drives for only a small amount of additional money this seems to be rather lacking to the majority of users.

Most people are unable to contain all of their computer usage to a 40GB hard drive anymore.

Once again, a hard drive upgrade is available, but the maximum size is only 120GB, which is expensive, and still a far cry from the hard drives that other models can provide.
