Refurbished Laptop Batteries Revealed

Refurbished laptop batteries are in fact used batteries taken from old laptop. This battery is then renewed. After this, it is recharged and tested for technical efficiency.

A battery is refurbished using a special machine. An old battery is connected to this machine. The machine sends various small but short electrical pulses all the way through the links of the connected battery.

This way, plates of the battery are cleaned by removing accumulation of dust particles, corrosion that may have developed over a long period of the battery usage.

Refurbished laptop batteries are technically superior to the old used battery but comparatively is not as good as a new battery.

It normally is supposed to have minimum 80% of original capacity. However, it is found that many of these have close to 100% of their original capacity.

A new battery will hold 100% capacity whereas a refurbished one will hold maximum 80% of the original capacity.

Another difference between them is cost. It's generally cheaper than a new battery. It is sold with discounts, for example, 30% to 50% off the regular price of a new battery.

Warranty on these batteries will be minimal whereas warranty on new battery will be about 1 year or so, depending upon the marketing strategy of the manufacturing company. These types of batteries make for an economical back up to your main one.
