Sony laptop review, what do you need to know?
The first thing we noticed during our Sony laptop review is that they received a 7.9 rating from PC Magazine overall survey (linked), an 8.0 rating in reliability. PC World - was ranked in top 10 for ultra-portable laptops. Sony Vaio UX: Is a micro-pc and their lowest priced Sony laptop computer. It has an Intel Core Solo Processor, 30 GB hard-drive, 512 MB RAM, Integrated Wifi & Bluetooth radios. Some models have a thumb keyboard and integrated phone functionality for GSM/EDGE connections. The lowest price found is US $1,799. You can add CF Slot and a full English keyboard as options bring the price up to US $2,199, weighs 1.15 lbs. It has a slide-out backlit keyboard and touch screen, also two cameras built in. Sony laptop review of Vaio TX models: There are 3 Sony laptop computer models, the TX 790P/L; TX770P/T; and the TX750P/B. They each weigh 2.76 lbs, have a standard batter life up to 7.5 hrs, 802.11 b/g wireless LAN and DVD+RW drive, 11.1" widescreen display. The TX770P/T also offers a DVD+R Double-Layer/DVD+RW drive as the only extra feature. The TX770P/B has everything the previous model has with additional option to create DVDs easily right at your fingertips. This is considered the high performance model and providing you connectivity at almost any location. Sony Vaio SZ: is the latest series of laptops. They have more power, more features such as being wrapped in lightweight carbon fiber casing, LED backlight behind 13.3" X-BRITE screen. They have an integrated EDGE radio, a biometric fingerprint sensor, G-Sensor shock protection, built-in microphone and camera so you will be ready for chat or video-conferencing. The premium end of the Sony laptop computer series has the NVIDIA 740 graphics card and an Intel Core Duo 2400 processor with 1.86GHz dual core, and an ultra thin LCD panel with the white LED LCD backlight. Sony laptop review of Vaio FJ: This series is thin, lightweight. The newest model in this series is the VGN-FJ170 with a Pentium M 1.73GHz processor, 2MB Cache, 512MB DDR2 RAM, 100GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive. The FJ series has an integrated webcam and mic for conferencing and chat. Specs for this Sony laptop computer also include a 14.1" WXGA with X-BRITE-ECO screen, Onyx Black Exterior Lid, Microsoft XP Home, DVD+R Double Layer/DVD + RW Drive, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 128MB Dynamically Shared Video Memory. Sony Vaio FE: Mobile Media PC: This laptop has a 15.4" screen with X-BRITE HiColor LCD, configured with Intel Core Duo Processor, has clear vibrant picture in daylight. This series has an advanced auto integration, with aural component to enhance viewing movies. XP Media Center Edition 2005 with an easy to use interface. Slim and portable design with a lot of workspace. 1GB DDR II SDRAM, 15.4 in TFT active matrix, Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. This Sony laptop computer also has an Intel PM945 chipset for great performance, excellent multimedia entertainment. Sony laptop review of Sony Vaio FS: This model is meant for the needs of the value conscious customer that demand performance. Ultra-slim, lightweight and runs with Intel Centrino technology. The features include a multiformat Double Layer DVD and Widescreen displays with exclusive Sony X-black LCD technology. There are some models in this series that offer superior graphics by NVIDIA GeForce 6200 GO Silicon and NVIDIA Turbo Cache. This model comes with full restore disks or a restore partition, and a Power Adaptor. This series has the Intel Celeron-M and Pentium-M Centrino Processor, 4 pin Fire wire (IEEE 1394) Port, 3-in-1 Card Reader, Integrated wireless LAN, docking port on selected models, 3 hour battery and weighs 2.9 kg. This series does not have the best ratings as far as I have seen. Vaio AR series Sony laptop review: This is a premium notebook powered by Intel Core Duo processor with 1GB of memory, 17" screen with X-BRITE High Color technology. Comes with a House of Flying Daggers movie in Blu-Ray format, that lets you use your HD compatible disc drive. The standard models are the AR130G and AR150G which match AX's WXGA+ (1440x900) resolution while the new series AR190G. This series has 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo Processor T2500, Integrated Wireless LAN: Intel PRO/Wireless 3915ABG Bluetooth, 17.8" WUXGA display (1920x1200) with X-BRITE High Color Technology, 200GB hard drive in RAID 0, (5400rpm) Serial ATA, Memory is 1GB PC2-4200 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Graphics include NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600GT 256MB, built-in TV Tuner and NTSC capable. The optical drive is Blu-Ray Disc/DVD+R Double Layer/DVD RW drive, an integrated MOTION-EYE camera with built-in microphone. The audio system is Sony Sound Reality Audio Enhancer. Ports are 1x4 pin I. LINK (IEEE 1394) interface, 3 x USB 2.0 This Sony laptop computer series also comes equipped with a HDMI cable and an HDMI-to-DVI-D adapter.
