The Sony Vaio CR series moves out of the "ultraportable" niche, and into more conventional laptop sizes, with a 14.1" screen, the same Intel processing specs as before, and a lower price.

You still get to customize color and engraving options; if you're looking to buy a stylish notebook on the cheap, the CR is a good place to start.

The CR series is the smallest Sony notebook to come with an internal DVD-writer as standard equipment.

The Sony Vaio CR series contains an Intel® Centrino® Duo processor and an 800 MHz Front Side Bus.

This laptop supports the standard 802.11 a/b/g connections as well as the new and considerably faster Wireless-N standard. The Wireless-N standard also has considerably more range than 802.11 a/b/g connections.

Windows Vista™ Business comes standard with the laptop. Also standard is a biometric fingerprint sensor.

Fingerprint biometrics is a convenient and secure way to help protect your computer. The fingerprint sensor also stores passwords to the websites you visit, so authentication and access are quick and easy.
